NDEHS Board

The New Directions Early Head Start (NDEHS) Board partners with the Policy Council to establish the rules, policies, and procedures that guide program operations and services.

Board Responsibilities

In accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, the NDEHS Board is responsible for:

• Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are established and implemented to safeguard federal funds.
• Establishing and maintaining a working partnership with the NDEHS Policy Council.
• Working with the Policy Council to establish and maintain written procedures that describe how both groups will participate in shared decision-making.
• Working with the Policy Council to establish and maintain written procedures for resolving internal disputes, including procedures for addressing an impasse between the two groups.
